Domain Name Nightmare
Posted by hank, Wed Apr 04 11:21:00 UTC 2007
So, fittingly, April 1st of this year, my nameservers changed for ralree.info causing a spam site to show up where everything I was working on used to be. I feared the worst, thinking that my name had been sniped by domain squatters. But no! In fact, as I already knew was happening, my domain had expired, but was put on hold by eNom. I’m actually very happy with them since they re-registered my domain name for a year without even batting an eye. All I had to do was email them proof of my identity and pay for another year of registration. I’m still going to transfer to another registrar (Site5), but for now, it works.

Very informative post. A friend of mine had the same problem and has been thinking about what to do.
How would you have known that Registerfly was shady?

I knew because they made me inject more money into my account than I needed to buy my initial domain name. This is a pretty shady practice since they are basically forcing you to buy more domains by doing this. Also, I could have read user reviews of their support and practices.
